Hope Chapel launched as a movement when Ralph and Ruby Moore gathered with their infant son, Carl and nine other people to start the first Hope Chapel in a small California beach town.
After 12 years of rapid multiplication the, now 2000+ member Hope Chapel Hermosa Beach sent the Moores to plant Hope Chapel Kaneohe in Hawaii. They, along with Aaron and Stephanie Suzuki and two-dozen other people, were the 30th church planted from the original Hope Chapel.
Today the movement numbers more than 1,000 congregations located on every continent on the planet.
In 2012, Ralph handed leadership of the Kaneohe church to his son, Carl. Together, we planted Hope Chapel Honolulu from what had been an extension of the Kaneohe congregation. As a new church, we overflow with vision and excitement. We are a “global/local” church. Our ultimate focus is to reach the ends of the earth, while engaging strong ministry in our local community.
We enjoy effective ministry in other countries via our pastor and several of our members who travel extensively. Locally we reach out to both healthy and broken people. We serve the homeless, donate blood and band together with the larger churches in our community to support the people of Honolulu.
