Kenya Mission 2017

2017 Kenya Team

Pray for our 2017 Kenya Missions Team. Pray for God's grace and anointing to be on them, for unity in the Spirit, for protection at all times and in all places, and for God to prepare the hearts of the people in Kenya to receive whatever God wants to give them.
Never underestimate the power of our living God...

Update:  Due to the current political climate in Kenya, and a State Department advisory restricting travel to Kenya, our 2017 mission trip had to be cancelled. However, we still plan to return in 2018 to conduct our usual eye clinic.
Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Kenya, for their safety and that God would show Himself strong during this difficult time.

Please pray for our mission team going to Kenya October 1st.  Specific Requests:

Kenya Mission 2013

Kenya Missions
by Mersa & Charlie Mixon

Kenya - Mersa & Charlie MixonGod called us, Mersa and Charlie Mixon, to a mission trip to Kenya, Africa in 2010; since then, we have been leading teams to Kisumu, DSC_0247.JPGKenya annually. On our previous trips, we have built greenhouses, painted classrooms, did
minor repairs and construction projects around the compound where the mission team is housed, conducted an eye clinic, trained church leaders on the concept of MiniChurch, launched children’s church, and purchased land in Reru Village, Kisumu in 2013 and donated it to the local church to whom we minister.

DSC_0587.JPGIn 2014, we conducted our 2nd eye clinic.  Our team saw over 2000 patients, gave out many hundreds of eyeglasses, medications, and the gift of the gospel.  As a result, we witnessed nearly 600 salvations.  We were also able to encourage and visit some of the MiniChurches (now 13) andDSC_0979 - Version 2.JPG attend a land dedication for a new church plant.  There are now two new church plants, with a house church soon to become the third!  God has done great things in this community through the encouragement and support of the Hope Chapel mission teams.

Some of the goals for 2015 are:  to continue to build up the church leadership, follow up on DSC_0923.JPGthe MiniChurches, and to work on acquiring building materials so that, together with the congregants of the local church, we can begin to pour the cement foundation and erect a roof for the proposed building on the new church property.  We go to encourage, inspire, edify, and empower the local church leadership. By the grace of God, we have witnessed good fruit.

"Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?  Who will go for us?"  I said, "Here I am.  Send me."   Isaiah 6:8

Will you go?

The plan is to be in Kenya the first two weeks of October 2015.  If interested in being part of the team, please contact Charlie or Mersa.
